The centrifuge bowl comprises >=2 elements with conical walls enclosing a collecting chamber and a circular sealing chamber. One of the materials sepd. from the mixt. is removed through this circular sealing chamber which has levers which can be controlled to open or close the chamber as required. Inside the centrifuge bowl is a series of parallel discs extending radially mounted on a shaft which is coaxial with the bowl. The shaft on which the discs are mounted can spin independently of the centrifuge bowl. Because the centrifuge bowl has only to rotate at a slow speed, technical problems which arise in the prodn. of the bowls are eliminated, hence reducing prodn. costs. Any appts. for control of the ejection of the sediments may be used at the speed of rotation used. Thus it may be controlled by pneumatic, hydraulic, electro-magnetic or mechanical means. The appts. is used for sepg. materials of different specific wts.
