Mfr. of a profiled strip esp. a trim and sealing strip for motor vehicles, consisting of a thermoplastics matrix with metal wire or metal strip reinforcements embedded at a small distance from the surface of the prod. exposed to view, by hot-moulding of the matrix about the reinforcements, is claimed. The matrix is shaped in two operational steps i.e. a core that fills the interstices of the reinforcements is first moulded, allowed to solidify; and then the outer portion of the matrix is shaped. Both longitudinal and transverse shrinkage of the prod. is minimised, thus improving its dimensional stability.
