The electric steam generator has one or more electrodes mounted in a vessel, and against which jets of water are directed for conversion to steam. The electrode (20) is in the form of a horizontal bowl, with passages (55) forming vertical jets of water. A water distribution chamber is mounted above each electrode, and has a horizontal bottom with passages in it (13) also forming vertical jets of water. A collector grille (15) for the jets emanating from the electrode may be mounted beneath each one, and means can be included for limiting the number of passages in the electrode to which the water is directed when the generator is under part-load. |
