The ceramic mass is fed by auger and then is subject to mixing and pre-pressing by auger prior to entry into the tapered down nozzle where a wedge divides the flow into two streams. The latter are guided by connectors to main pressing chambers with vertical extruder augers. The latter rotate in a split housing where one half is held stationary while the other half is hinged. - This allows the removal of the one formed tube while the other one is being extruded, and thus the machine operates continuously. The drive of the multiple-pass extruder press is ensured by motor and gear while clutch protects the preliminary mixing and pressing auger. The latter does not reach the tapered nozzle where the ceramic mass forms an effective slip seal in front of the connecting channels leading to the vertical extruders.
