L-shaped transfer levers fitted on pivots attached to the end of walking beam furnace feeds for the transfer of long rolled sections from the roll channel at 90 degrees to the direction of rolling onto the walking beam. One arm of the lever is horizontal in the rest position and below the roll street whilst the other arm points down vertically and is engaged by a stationary roller during the forward movement of the walking beam thus lifting the horizontal arm of the lever and making the section on the roll channel roll onto the walking beam.
