The glazed cladding for a balcony or verandah protruding from a building is designed to extend the area of a living-room or interior working space, and to be easily adapted to balconies of different sizes and shapes and easily installed by the house-holder without using skilled labour. A frame (13-24) holds glazing units on three sides. It is shaped so that it can fit against the building on the fourth side. It may be shaped so as to fit on the underside of a balcony (9) sited above it, and needing no roof and pref. no floor. The frame may be extensible both vertically and horizontally. It can incorporate upright struts with spring-loaded extensions. The panes of glass can be fitted inside the frame, from inside, and there can be ventilation flaps, pref. near the bottom edge.
