[Also in Division B8] In a vehicle parking apparatus comprising a platform elevated by hydraulic rams these are controlled by a valve 142 operated by movement of a cross-piece 162 which engages a lever 178 connected to a crank 182 fixed to a core 184 of the valve. The core has bores 192, 194 at right angles to each other which register with passages extending respectively between a conduit 140 leading from the pump and a conduit 146 leading to the rams, and between the conduit 146 and a conduit 158 leading to the reservoir through a constrictor valve. A detent 196 in the core is engageable by a ball 208 moved by a piston 206 disposed in a recess 202 which is connected by a passage 205 to the conduit 158. To elevate a vehicle the core 184 is rotated from the position shown to supply fluid to the rams, and to lower a vehicle the core is rotated to the position shown to permit the weight of the vehicle on the platform to force fluid from the rams to the reservoir, the constrictor valve producing a back pressure on the piston 206 to lock the valve until the platform is fully lowered.</p> |
