The composite of an Al-Mn alloy contg. a small amt. of Cr and Cu is provided on one side with a coating of an Al-Zn alloy, which contains Si and Fe in a small amount. The Al-Mn alloy has the compsn. 1.0-1.5% Mn, 0.1-0.4% Cr, 0.05-0.4% Cu, and the deposit of Al-Zn alloy has the compsn. 0.8-1.3% Zn, max. 0.70% Si+Fe, and max. 0.1% each of Cu, Mn and/or Mg. The composite which is produced by roll plating is resistant to erosion corrosion. For heat exchanger tubes which come into contact with water.The Cu-Mn-Cr alloy has superior resistance to erosion type corrosion. Its compsn. is pref. 1.0-1.5% Mn, 0.1-0.4% Cr, 0.05-0.4% Cu. pref. (max) 0.6% Si, 0.7% Fe, 0.1% Zn and 0.05-0.15% other constituents.
