The device is matched to the chassis of a vehicle e.g. lorry, tractor trailer, fitted with a covered tip tray (2) for transport of granular or pulverised material. The tray may be mounted permanently on the vehicle chassis or it may be removable. In the latter version there are integral hydraulic units to render external lifting gear unnecessary. The tipping action is effected by hydraulic cylinders (6). The tip axis carries a circular cam (13) sliding in guides (4). In the removable tray version the tray is carried on an intermediate flame similarly equipped with lifting gear. The tray has jacks at each of its corners.
