The overhead line insular anchor element is of the cap type. The glass or porcelain insulator (2) is fixed into a metallic anchor cap (4) which is designed to be suspended from a cross arm suspension hook (5) of a pylon (6). The connection between the hook (5) and the anchor cap (4) is by means of a ballended eyelink (7). The anchor cap (4) is in the form of a bell and is divided into two compartments. A lower compartment which contains a part of the insulator and an upper compartment designed to hold the ball (7b) of the ballended eyelink (7). The cap (4) has an upper internal truncated face which is designed to cooperate with the skirt (14) of a metal cup (15). The cup (15) has slots (16) cut in its sides which give it the necessary elasticity to be forced against the sides (13) of the cap (4).
