<p>The piston has a main portion (12) which has a circular band (14) fitted with a number of grooves to take the compression rings (15) and scraper rings (17). The piston skirt has a bore (20) to take the connecting rod pin. The piston is fitted with a crown (20) whose upper edge is curved around the centre and is made from refractory material. The crown has a central hole which receives the holding down screw (30).</p> |
