<p>Two pans of a conveyor are joined in the plane of line (28). Each pan has a heavy forged or cast part (11, 12) welded to its side. Openings (24), (54) are bordered by flanges (22, 23), (52, 53). An upper channel is bordered by flanges (30, 57). The opposed ends of parts (11, 12) are curved to the same radius as the ends of a chain link (13) and have small ribs (40). The top straight part of the link is nested in the upper channel with the other straight part raised slightly above the horizontal. The latter is then pivoted downwardly to nest between the sides of the pans and a lower channel formed by parts (11, 12), connecting the pans together.</p> |
