In the case of insolation, it is intended to be able to provide shade for the terrace (1) and to channel away and store heat produced in the covering means (2). During the night, the closed reflectors (5) are to form a convection barrier and, as required, the heat stored during the day is to be fed back to the terrace again. The covering means (2) of the terrace (1) has a number of reflectors (5) which are parabolic in cross-section. A transparent roof (9) is arranged over the reflectors (5). The rear side of the reflectors (5) is provided with a heat-insulating layer. The reflectors (5), which are arranged pivotably about their focal axis, can move such that they automatically follow the position of the sun. When it is cloudy, the reflectors (5) are brought into a vertical position, with the result that diffuse rays, being obstructed only to a small extent, pass through the reflectors (5) to the terrace (1). During the night, the reflectors (5) are pivoted downwards. If required, liquid which has heated up during the day can be passed through the tubes located in the focal axis of the reflectors (5). <IMAGE>
