The carton may be designed to carry six bottles and has a base and two sides (11) as well as short sides at the end of the carton to form a tray. The sides extend upwards over the top of the bottles to form a lid (15) over the bottles. The lid pieces are joined to form a handle by folding one of the panels over. The bottles are kept separate by means of slots (13) in the top of the side to take the cork. The panel (17) is bordered by perforations so that the carton may be torn open by pulling at the edges of the hole (19) in the carton.
