<p>The railcar is fitted with slotted rails (3) along each side. The chocks (1) are mounted at the ends of arms (2) pivoted on slides which run along the rails, and which are located on the rails by removable pegs. The position of the chocks is secured by bracing arms (4) between the chocks and the rails, to form a triangular frame. The chocks are adjustable to fit any vehicle, with elastic dampers on both faces of the chocks. Only two slotted rails are required for each railcar, as compared with the array of peg holes in conventional cars.</p> |
