Apparatus for dispersing solids, liquids and gases in a liquid comprises an agitator rotating with a vertical shaflt 4 and having blades in a plurality of planes 5, 6, 7, 8, Fig. 1, the blades in any one plane being alternately of opposite pitch; as shown there are four blades in each plane and each is also of opposite pitch to that above and/or below. In the embodiment of Fig. 4 the blades are longitudinally divided, 'the inner and outer sections being of opposite pitch, and there are two blades in each plane (see also Figs. 5 or 6, not shown).</p> |
