Machine for cleaning and loading sugar beet - in which crop is cleaned by rotating discs forming a grille

The machine has steerable wheels and a drawbar for towing behind a tractor. An elongated hopper has an upper part part with vertical side walls and a lower part with inclined side walls. The end walls are vertical. The upper side walls comprise rails hinged at their lower side so they can be folded down to reduce the height. Driven rollers with a large number of circular discs constitute a grille for cleaning the beet. A driven endless chain slatted conveyor carries the crop from the hopper to the rollers, whence it passes, after cleaning, through an outlet to a conveyor for loading on a wagon.
