<p>A video disc player is operated with a fully interlocked control system, with trip relays for pick-up arm position, cover etc. The player turntable is belt-driven. The pick-up arm housing has the arm pivoted with a flexible coupling. The pick-up pin forms a variable capacitor with the disc grooves. A controlled clamping unit is for arm retention. The control panel has six mode control switches, relating to normal operation, pauses and search operations. Interlock relays combine with solid state for the control system.</p> |
