The sail sheet jamming cleat has two jaws (4) mounted on vertical pivots near one end, the jaws being spring biassed to a closed position. Each jaw carries rollers (1) with serrations (3), free to rotate on lengthwise horizontal spindles (2). The rollers may be housed in recesses in the jaws, and there may be several rows of rollers with spindles parallel and in the same vertical plane. The spindle fixings are designed to make replacement easy, and the serrations are rounded and may be in line or staggered.
