Closure for sack esp. a refuse sack comprises a wire clasp made e.g. from spring steel or plastic. The approx. U-shaped clasp has a broad base opening (11) into which the sack neck fits. The arms (12, 13) of the clasp diverge from this opening towards their free ends. The clasp ends (14) are angled outwards away from each other and are thereby able to be interlocked by pulling the arms together thus tightening the clasp about the sack's neck and effectively sealing it. The tips of the clasp ends are bent through 180 deg. to form a rounded end which is safe to handle.
