The electroluminescent semiconductor display arrangement includes an optical cable system. Light is supplied to the end face of the cable and distributed uniformly. The efficiency of light conduction is high. The display system can use isotropic or non-isotropic semiconductors. The substrate has a surface with a cavity. The latter has reflecting surfaces at bottom and sides. An electroluminescent semiconductor is held in a contact frame having conductors for applying electrical signals. All the light emitted from the semiconductor is directed onto the reflecting surfaces. The light is reflected uniformly by the reflectors to the opening.
