A sound insulation board of integral polyurethane foam is produced in "soft" and "heavy" density of 300-700 kg/m3 with a tough soft and dense skin to prevent ingress of moisture and dust into its pores, it has both insulating and absorbent effects; the side facing the source of sound has an additional feature to increase its absorbent property. Partic. suitable for reducing the noise from vehicle including tracked vehicles, i.e. is suitable for outdoors, resists vibration and shock and is porous.
