1518992 Hydraulic fluids GENERAL ELECTRIC CO 23 May 1975 [29 July 1974] 22810/75 Heading C5F [Also in Division C3] A fluid for hydraulic dampers comprises: (i) a major amount of a poly (dimethylsiloxane) with trimethylsilyl end groups and a viscosity of 5 to 4000 centistokes at 25‹C, (ii) a rubber-swelling agent of specified kind in an amount no more than 10% by weight, and (iii) a Cu, Mn, Pb or Zn salt of a partial ester of a phosphoric or thiophosphoric acid in an amount no more than 15% by weight. The rubber-swelling agent is selected from triethyl, triisopropyl, tributyl, trioctyl, tri-(2-ethylhexyl), triphenyl, tricresyl and tribromophenyl phosphates, dioctyl and dibenzyl succinates, dioctyl and dibenzyl azelates and dimethyl and diisooctyl sebacates. A corrosion inhibitor may also be present. In the examples, component (ii) is a mixture of one of the named phosphates with one of the carboxylate esters. |
