1499851 Stabilized accelerator compositions AMERICAN CYANAMID CO 3 Jan 1975 [4 Jan 1974] 329/75 Heading C3E A stabilized accelerator composition for rubber comprises a sulphenamide, a thiuram sulphide and an effective stabilizing amount of a compound selected from (1) crotonic acid; (2) amides represented by the formula wherein R and R<SP>1</SP> are hydrogen or methyl, Z is a group selected from -NH 2 , -NHR<SP>11</SP>, -NR 2 <SP>11</SP>, -(NH) 2 R<SP>111</SP>, -(NHCH 2 O) 2 R<SP>111</SP> or wherein R<SP>11</SP> is alkyl, alkoxyalkyl, aralkyl or hydroxymethyl; R<SP>111</SP> is alkylene, arylene or oxydialkylene; and x is an integer of from 1 to 3; (3) esters represented by the formula wherein R and R<SP>1</SP> are as defined above, n is an integer of from 1 to 4; when n is 1, Y is OR<SP>1111</SP>, wherein R<SP>1111</SP> is alkyl or alkoxyalkyl; when n is 2, Y is -OR<SP>11111</SP>O-, wherein R<SP>11111</SP> is alkylene or oxydialkylene; when n is 3, Y is wherein R<SP>111111</SP> is alkane triyl; and when n is 4, Y is and (4) pentaerythritol triacrylate. Examples are given in which a styrene-butadiene rubber/ polybutadiene masterbatch is mixed with a blend comprising N-oxydiethylene benzothiazole - 2 - sulphenamide, tetramethyl thiuram monosulphide or dipentamethylene thiuram tetrasulphide and an acrylic stabilizer, or crotonic acid. |
