1503343 Demountable filter element YAMAKAWA INDUSTRY CO LTD and NIFCO INC 10 June 1975 [11 June 1974] 24742/75 Heading BID A filter element for a fuel tank comprises a cylindrical body 1, consisting of a lower closure disc 4, an upper ring 3 and axial ribs 5 all moulded integrally of plastics with a tube of filter medium 6 embedded therein, a separate cover 2 removably securable to ring 3 and an outlet pipe 8 removably mountable in a hole 9 in the cover. Pipe 8 has an external bead 8' which fits groove 11 in hole 9. As shown the body 1 has catches 7 at the tops of ribs 5 which engage in holes 12 in the cover to hold it on to the body. Alternatively the catches could be integral with cover 2 and engage round ring 3. Filter medium 6 is plastics net or metal mesh.
