<p>The impeller of a wind driven power generator has a hub (2) attached to an output shaft which is fixed through a hole (9) on the axis of the hub. Two aerofoil section blades (3, 4) are attached to the hub by pins (8, 7) at their roots (5, 6). Two flexible strips (10, 11) are attached one on each side of the hub. A mass (17, 18) is fixed to the end of each flexible strip. When the impeller rotates, the elasticity of the strips results in a small displacement of the masses which produces a force rotating at twice the speed of the impeller. By adjustment of the masses it can be made equal and opposite to the rotating out of balance force produced by the two blades.</p> |
