A relational, in partic, a proportional, control device is designed to perform the function of a proportional controller whilst retaining the relative simplicity of a "bang-bang" controller. "Bang-bang", or all-or-nothing controllers are activated only when the controlled parameter differs from a desired value and can produce hunting which degrades the control performance. To provide proportional control from a comparator-type system the desired value from the first potentiometer is compared in the comparator with a signal corresp. to the sum of the actual value from the second potentiometer and its derivative produced by an additional circuit.
|
