Speed reduction gear for oscillating drive - uses reversible solenoid with free wheel transmission to control tumbler switch

The speed reduction gear uses a solenoid as a source of power in order to overcome the effects of motor inertia. When the solenoid is energised by a series of electric pulses alternately flowing in opposite directions a reciprocating motion is imparted to levers through a rod. The levers are connected by a free wheel to a further lever so that it rotates with a stepwise motion. The lever is connected by link to a lever of a tumbler switch which is operated after the solenoid has made a pre-determined number of oscillations.
