Electrostatic action filter for dust-laden air - includes woven filter meshes with material that is charged by air friction

An air filter includes 2 sheets with wide or open meshes woven from a material that is made from or coated by a non-inflammable, non-combustible material. The material is charged electrostatically under the action of the friction of air. The 2 sheets of cloth are laid either side of a metal support grid and sepd. from each other. The assembly of the 2 sheets on the support grid is mounted inside a metal frame. The sheets, are woven from a thread of e.g. glass fibre coated with PTFE. Filter is of cheap and simple construction and has high reliability and good behaviour in fire.
