<p>Compressed stratified coatings are made from different particles contg. lignocelloluse and/or cellulose which include resins hardening at different elevated temps. Two successive operations are employed, under the influence of heat. After the first operation, a decorative layer impregnated with artificial resin is applied to the pressed piece and compressed with it to form one whole. All the thermo-hardenable resins are placed in contact with the particles contg. lignocellullose and/or before the first pressing operation, and >=1 of the thermo-hardenable resins becomes hardened during the first operation. Pref. >=1 other thermo-hardenable resin which only hardens after application of the decorative sheet is pref. a water-insol. powder, partic. a powder of phenol-novolak-hexamethylene tetramine. Such sheets are used to decorate wooden frameworks exposed to the weather, as well as for decorating furniture. They are relatively high rigidity. Method facilitates transport of sheets which have undergone first stage only.</p> |
