The tool box contains insert trays, supported on both sides by straps, and parallel guides. The trays swivel into and out of the box by the opening/closing movements of the box. The straps (15-18) are positioned next to each other, and at their pivot points (19) are connected to insertion runners (11-14), to form an integral unit. The runners have associated retainers (8-10) in the side walls (5-7) of the inserts (3-4) and the lower (1) and upper (2) sections of the box. There are also releasable locks, formed by projections on the runners, and corresponding apertures in the side walls of the insert trays and box sections.
