The mechanism carries out blocking of the retractor by the action of the lock clasp. The lock clasp has a shaped tip which works together with the swivelling jaws (21) of the lock. The clasp carries a slidably fitted blade (12) which has an operating extension (13) by which it can be moved sideways against the force of a spring (16). A wedge-shaped extension (17) enters the gap between the jaws of the lock when the clasp is pushed into the locking position. In this position the tip of the extension operates a switch (20) fitted inside the lock and current is transmitted through wiring to the solenoid on the retractor to carry out blocking of the retractor.
