The electric table grill comprises a lower part (10) which has a stand surface (11) for the pan and a support for the removable grilling tray (24) which lies above the heating element which is set at a distance from the stand surface wherein this latter support is designed as a spacer (19) which extends only over part of at least two side edges (18) of the stand surface (11). The upper edge of this spacer (19) can be used directly as the support face (22) for the grilling tray (24) so that grill pans can thereby be handled from either side and placed beneath the heating element on the stand surface for baking or on the grilling tray above the heating element for grilling. Indeed food can be cooked beneath and above the heating element at the same time.
