The edges of the front glass plate are held in a continuous groove in the side walls and the base where the walls and the base are of plastic material and connected via sealing joints. In the region of the edges which engage in the groove (9), the sides of the glass plate (4) have a coating (17) of a material which can be joined with the material of the side walls (2, 3) and the base (1) by dissolving or by adhesion. The coating (17) is formed by a parallel bar which grips on the edges of the plate (4). There is also a strip of compatible material to compensate for the tolerances between the wells of the groove (9, 10) and the plate (4).
