The edge of the roof is protected by the vertical part (2) of a T-section strip. The plastic roof covering is passed round a tube (6) and doubled back to overlap the roof surface. A flange (3) is bolted to the oblique part (1) of the edge strip to enclose the tube (6) which is free to move in its cavity. The overlapping part (9) of the roof sheet protects the edge region from weather and ultra-violet radiation. Movement of the tube (6) accommodates thermal expansion and contraction of the sheet avoiding damage.
