Sliding component noise damping device - comprising non-elastic plastic piece sheared on insertion into guide

The device damps out noise and/or takes up the clearance between a sliding component and the groove in which it is guided, and is for window-frames. A metal slide works in an undercut groove in a profiled metal section, on or more non-metallic filler pieces being interposed between them and accommodated in recesses. The filler piece is of plastics and non-elastic material and is fitted in the recess before insertion of the slide in the groove. On insertion, part of the piece is sheared off by the edges formed on a shoulder of the groove, so as to give a good fit.
