<p>A measuring unit for environmental conditions, e.g. the bottom-hole pressure and temp. in a well, includes a scanner of a first environmental condition (pressure) to supply a coded word with a code sequence to suit the reading. A scanner for a second condition (temp.) produces a time control signal with a frequency to suit the reading. A processor supplies from both a binary coded signal, the bit sequence indicating the first and the bit duration indicating the second environmental condition. The small radiation sources and sensors and the small coding disc result in small overall dimensions. As digital techniques replace the analog techniques, the distance between well bottom and recorder does not affect the accuracy.</p> |
