S CRICHTON R HOWELL and E McDOUGEL 18 June 1975 [19 June 1974] 26015/75 Heading E2A In combination with a boot lid of a motor vehicle, said boot lid having a locking device comprising a catch, a remotely controlled release device for the catch, the release device comprising a solenoid 10, which is fitted on the boot lid, and an elongate connecting link of adjustable length which is hook shaped at each end, one end being connected to the armature 12 of the solenoid 10 and the other end connected to a trip lever 17 of the catch of the locking device. In an embodiment a flat member 13, Figs. 1 and 2, extends from the armature 12 and has a slot 14 therein which receives a member 15. A spring 16 encircles the member 13 and is compressed between the armature 12 and the member 15, the latter being adjacent a hooked end of a rod 18. An adjustment member 19 is mounted between the rod 18 and another rod 18, the latter being connected to the lever 17. In another embodiment the armature 12 has a stud 21 to which a hooked end 23 of a flexible member 22 is attached, the other hooked end 23 being secured to the lever 17. |
