The pneumatic cushion is for use in packing, comprising three plastic sheets (1, 2, 3) welded together to form a series of cells. The cells are connected to a main passage, the central sheet having an opening (7) connecting the two chambers formed by it. Thus when not in use the cushion occupies the minimum space. The cushion is inflated by compressed air delivered through the main passage. Air discharge then moves the central sheet (2), causing it to shut off the passages (8) and thus the connections between the individual cells, forming an hermetic seal. |
