<p>A document facsimile transmitter has character non-uniformity compensation. It has a threshold comparator controlled by the mean level of the video signals to improve the transmitted signals. The comparator has an inverting amplifier (1) which is applied the signal from the photo-sensitive elements of the facsimile transmitter. It also has a summing amplifier (2), a peak detecting circuit, a DC power supply (4), a threshold comparator circuit (5) and a flip-flop circuit (6). The output state (0, 1) of the flip-flop corresponds to the signal level detected. The output of the flip-flop (6) is transmitted to the facsimile receiver.</p> |
