<p>The enrichment of trace elements, uranium-, actinide-, and trnsactinide concentrates with U comprises the production of Ca carbide and/or ferrosilicon from U- and actinide contg. carbon or coke and from U contg. slags and waste products of nuclear- and breeder reactors, using several melting furnaces in stages having separate tap holes for the ferrosilicon alloy and Ca carbide enriched by a factor of 1.4. The product is continuously molten and solidified whereby the enrichment during isotope sepn. remains below a critical mass, and the basic material such as lime, carbon and ferrosilicon are recycled. Used for the recovery of U and actinides from nuclear waste products and the production of nuclear fuels.</p> |
