Playback unit for video disc not touched by operator - has insertion and extraction elements aligning disc with slot and guiding into jacket

A video disc playback unit, where the disc can be inserted and removed from the unit without being touched by the operator. The disc is kept in a protective jacket. The playback unit consists of a housing (136) with an insertion slot (42) which fits the jacket. There are elements (146, 148) which are in a straight line with the slot to guide the jacket when inserting and removing from the housing. The disc is placed on a turn-table (150) in the housing. The disc is held by gripping mechanisms (166, 168) which can be set in two positions. The disc will remain in the playback unit when the jacket is removed. The disc can be placed in an upper and a lower position.
