The comb-type plastic bearing cage is for a grooved radial-load ballbearing with one-piece inner and outer races with high shoulders. It comprises an annular portion and ribs, the latter with holding lugs extending for most of the ball dia. The ribs (4) have radial protrusions (7) extending both towards the bore and the outside. At the outside their max. dia. is equal to or slightly less than the bore dia. of the outer race shoulder. In the cage bore their min. dia. is equal to or slightly greater than the dia. of the inner race shoulder. The radial protrusions can be elastic tongues, engaging behind the shoulders of the inner and outer races.
