The noise damping insert has an elastic hose piece for damping water noise. Specifically the inserts is in the form of a cylindrical formed piece (1) of an elastic, dense and pressure-resistant material with annular thickening (22) formed on each end piece. These thickenings (22) can be pushed into cylindrically shaped water guides (3) in valves and by means of rigid reinforcing or support bodies, the thickenings (22) are pressed radially, tightly against a well (5) of a water guide (3). A sealing bead of semi-circular cross-section is provided on the outer faces of the thickenings (22).
