Mine gallery junction support frame - has special structure at junction connecting standard arches in main and side galleries

A mine gallery cladding framework has a modified structure at the junction of a side gallery with a main gallery. The standard frames are made up of angles joined together to match the arch shape of the gallery walls. At the junction, the side of the main gallery is partly supported by partly completed standard arches. These are supported near the top by a longitudinal beam at right angles to the side gallery. Parallel with this beam on the side near the side gallery is another horizontal support secured each by a channel attached to the complete arches in the main gallery. To this support are attached two diagonal frames made of I-beams which follow the junction lines between the side of the main gallery and the side of the side gallery.
