The double acting telescopic power cylinder has an antitorsion device which can take up considerable loadings. An outer tube is connected rigidly with a base plate. Part of this element also forms the guide bushing, fitted with four bores arranged along a circle contg. the upper ends of the tie rods. The threads at the lower ends of the tie rods fit in tappings provided in the base plate. The upper ends have thread with nuts. The guide bushing is provided with a shoulder fitting into a corresponding ring groove of the tube. Between the tube and the guide bushing a seal is fitted. The guide rods penetrate the piston in an axial direction, providing an anti-torsion device. The other stages are similarly provided so that the rods serve as guides for a particular piston always anchored at the base of the corresponding cylinder.
