The open and shut draw cord (13) for curtains is worked directly into the textile fabric during the manufacture of the curtain (10) or curtain tape (11) and is enclosed by the textile joints (15, 15') such as the overlocking weft threads. The draw cord which is longitudinally displaceable then runs in floating manner between these weft threads. The draw cord pref. comprises two parallel cords (14, 14') which move opposite each other (33, 33') but are connected together (26, 27) at their ends on at least one side outside of the curtain (10). After drawing up the curtains into folds the excess length of the draw cord is sufficient to hang down at the side for easy handling. The cord need not be removed when cleaning the curtains but remains firmly entrenched in the curtain heading.
|
