A lubricator has a cylindrical cup (1) with a threaded connector (8) for attaching to the machine requiring lubrication. A cover (11) is screwed onto the cup and has a plain hole in its upper surface for the piston rod (15) of the piston (16). The grease stored in the cut is pushed out through the hole (5) by the piston which is acted on by the compression spring (20). The travel of the piston is limited by the nut (27) which is screwed onto the piston rod (24) and abus against the boss (13) forming part of the cover (12). The rotation of the nut allows the spring (20) to push the piston downwards and deliver a controlled quantity of grease.
