The hollow elastic section (56) is for use as a door-seal and deforms to augment the seal as the door (1) moves into the closure position. In the repose position the seal (56) is of an approx. 'C' section with a hollow hooked nose formation built onto the concave face. A subsidiary segmental channel formation is built onto the back of the 'C' and serves to locate the seal on a 'fulcrum' rib (5). The rib (5) locates in the angle of the door-frame rebate (4a, 4b) and the two extremities (58, 59) of the 'C' cantilever beyond the nose formation. The 'C' approximates to a segment and may have a central zone (57) of relatively rigid construction. The nose formation may be delineated by a 'J' (60) which cantilevers approx radially from the 'C' returns obliquely into a minor 'Z' shape (60A) and finally extends a linearly (60B) to rejoin the 'C'. The edge of the door encounters the hook of the nose causing the inner leg (59) to pivot and press on the edge (1b) of the door.
|
