<p>The washing machine door lock has a relay with tappet securing the door, together with a bimetal strip clamped at one end and heated by a coil so as to thrust the tappet into the locking position, actuating contacts in the process. The contacts control the entire electric supply to the washing machine, except for the bimetal strip heating circuit. They can be formed by a pair of springs one of which has an extension protruding into a slot in the tappet.</p> |
